Kenyan Jobs :: A Collection of Jobs in Kenya
This website is a vivid reminder to all that own a website or plan to have one that the world wide web is about content. This website is not pretty. I should kindly ask web designers to ignore this post. But it has to be the most comprehensive collection of vacant job postings in Kenya on the web. The website has great content and I am certain that it has a great following. People who are looking for a job do not care about the means that the information is delivered; handwritten on a tissue paper would be just fine as long as the information is useful.
The owner(s) chose to sign up with Google's Blogger rather than pay for a domain name and pay for web hosting. This is a great way to get onto the www for those that do not want to pay or cannot afford to pay for a domain name. Either because they do not own a credit card to pay for a .com or other international domain name or find the KES 2,000 fee from KENIC or their registrars more than they would want to pay.
Whilst blogger is primarily intended for blogs, its benefit as a website is that it provides a content management structure that makes it easy for the visitors to the website to find for content. The website also has a custom Google search funtion. That said the website has a very cluttered feel to it.
It is not obvious how the owners of this website get a return on the hard work of gathering this information from their sources, most of it I suspect from other websites, and collating it in one website. Credit to the owners of this website for their innovation and shrewd low cost approach to delivering very useful information.
