Internet at Home Safaricom 4G Modem

For the better part of the last 5 years I used a Safaricom 3G modem for my home internet connection; initially the Huawei E1750 USB modem and then from Jan 2014 the Huawei E5331 WiFi modem.

I switched to the Safaricom 4G Huawei WiFi modem E5373 in August 2015

The Safaricom network works well and I have had a reliable internet connection at home. I purchase a 12GB 30 day bundle for KES 3,000.

That is more than sufficient for me but my teenage daughters are now high data volume users and can easily utilize 1GB in a few hours.

I have been researching options to switch to a fiber to the home unlimited Internet connection.

There is the option of Zuku link but I have not been confident about their promptness in resolving downtime

Safaricom are finally laying fibre cables to homes in Kileleshwa and I have began the process of signing up to them.

More on that in the next post ...
