Kutoka Mbali - Nov 21

It is great to see how much news is available through Twitter, FB and blogs in contrast to the traditional media houses although these too are making their impact through the Internet.

For a Kenyan on the other side of the world (USA), this is the news I received from back home this past week;
  • KBC TV is available through the Internet, through JumpTV. I was able to watch the end of the Harambee Stars and Nigeria game live from Kasarani, after struggling following the live updates provided by Farayi Mungazi on the BBC Football Africa web page.
  • KTN started streaming their TV channel through the Internet on Nov 18. Got the news from Larry Madowo via Twitter when KTN were testing.
  • There is a new TV show called Shuga, based on the tweets on Fri nite it must be a pretty good TV drama!
  • Zain switched on their 3G service to the delight of many.
  • Internet speeds have started improving significantly, one of my favorite bloggers, Bankelele, reports that it is now truly sweet to watch YouTube.
  • The new constitution, aka the harmonized draft, was released I downloaded it from the Nation newspaper website and I reading it with great interest.
  • No more Adam and Twende magazines :( These were favorite Kenyan magazines.
  • Cess Mutungi is back at Capital FM, I love her voice!
Fantastic to see how the Internet is enabling Kenyans to tell their story(ies) to the rest of the world.
